Caring for your earrings

Polymer clay is a wonderful but delicate material. The lifespan of your pieces really depends on how you care for them, so here are some top tips for making the most out of your p a s t a jewellery:

  • The clay is strong but can be scratched or broken –  be careful not to drop delicate pieces or place in pockets or purses.

  • Not recommended for wear during sleep, showering, or swimming.

  • Do not try to bend the pieces as this may snap them.

  • Do not try and pull the jewellery fastenings, as this may also break them.

  • When not in use, store the jewellery in a box or separate compartment (don't just put them straight in your bag!)

  • Do not wet polymer clay earrings. If a piece gets dirty, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. You may also use a cotton ear swab dipped in acetone to wipe lightly on the surface of the earring. However, this does NOT apply to earrings that are hand painted, have gold leaf, or are coated with varnish.

  • Avoid using chemicals, solvents, perfume, jewelry cleaners, or hairspray near the earrings as this may tarnish the piece.
